Becoming conscious to the thoughts we have about ourselves that are often birthed in childhood is the first step in reconnecting with our true selves. These thoughts and resultant behavior patterns often keep us stuck in unfulfilling and yet reinforcing situations .
Having an external witness guide us with compassion to a new way of thinking about ourselves can be a transformative and powerful way to move forward.
We use a variety of ways to keep our selves stuck, particularly when the outcome is unknown. Procrastination, rationalization, perfectionism...they can all immobilize us or keep us playing small. Scratch the surface though and what underlies all of them is fear. Understanding that the unknown will always be fraught with fear allows us to step forward anyway. Doing that while aligning with our true selves allows us to achieve our goals and dreams with autonomy, integrity and grace.
Becoming aware of my unconscious patterns of living and reconnecting with my divine essence is the most important and transformative work I've ever done.
Most of us are unaware of how early childhood, traumatic or other significant experiences leave an imprint on us resulting in unconscious thoughts and feelings about ourselves. This results in patterns of behavior that in some way, have us stuck. For me, a lack of boundaries, feelings of worthlessness and a sense of scarcity were all evident in early childhood. These feelings became my "normal" and as such, I unconsciously co-created situations where I neglected to establish or allowed boundaries to be violated, I felt my value diminished, and scarcity was present in one way or another. It wasn't until I reconnected with my authentic self and these unconscious patterns became conscious that I was able to transmute my suffering into flourishing. From there, my dreams became reality.
