I specialize in working with adults with developmental trauma and the shame and anxiety that accompanies it.   

Somatic Experiencing is a gentle and effective approach to healing from trauma and stress that focuses on the wisdom of your body. In our sessions, we'll pay close attention to the physical sensations and experiences you're having, because these hold important clues about your body's natural healing process.

Traumatic experiences can get 'stuck' in our bodies, leading to a range of physical and emotional symptoms. Maybe you've noticed tension, numbness, or discomfort in certain parts of your body, or perhaps you've experienced symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks, or difficulty sleeping. These are all common ways that our bodies respond to trauma.

We'll work together to gently explore and release these stored sensations and experiences in your body. We do this by helping you tune into the subtle physical sensations you're feeling and gradually allowing them to be processed and released in a safe and supportive environment

Unlike traditional talk therapy, Somatic Experiencing doesn't require you to retell your traumatic experiences in detail. Instead, we focus on your body's natural ability to heal itself. You'll learn to listen to the wisdom of your body and trust its innate capacity for healing and resilience.

Throughout our sessions, I'll guide you through simple exercises and techniques to help regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, and restore a sense of safety and balance in your body. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, honoring your unique needs and experiences.

By reconnecting with your body in this way, you can gradually release the grip of past trauma and reclaim a greater sense of vitality, well-being, and empowerment in your life.
